Uladzimir Kumets sentenced to 20 days of administrative arrest

The administrative case of Uladzimir Kumets is being heard at the Leninski district court in Minsk.

Uladzimir was detained on 10 May, around 3 p.m. When the activist went out of his home and got into the car, a couple of unknown men in plain clothes blocked him with their car. Kumets jumped out of his car and tried to escape, but was detained.

Former spokesman of the campaign “Revolution through Social Networks” was brought to the Leninski district police department and then to Akrescina detention centre. Kumets is accused of disorderly conduct (Art. 17.1 of the Administrative Code) and disobedience to the law-enforcement officials (Art. 23.4 of the Administrative Code)

The court proceeding was held very quickly, even without a break. Judge Mikhail Khoma sentenced Kumets to 20 days of administrative arrest.
