Detained Homel officials are Banchuk and Tryzna

The Investigation Committee revealed the names of the detained top officials of the Homel regional executive committee.

They are Viktar Banchuk and Viktar Tryzna, BelTA has learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Investigation Committee.

First deputy chairman of the regional executive committee Viktar Banchuk is responsible for agriculture and the relating sectors. Deputy head Viktar Tryzna is responsible for the social sector. Other details of the criminal case are unknown.

The officials were detained yesterday on suspicion of abuse of power. They were charged with violating part 3 of article 424 of the Criminal Code of Belarus. The criminal case was opened by the General Prosecutor's Office on the ground of the materials of the main organised crime and corruption department of the Interior Ministry. The investigation is under way.
