Workers of Rahachou-based Diaproektor plant complain about low salaries

Workers receive only 2 million rubles.

The Free Metal Workers Trade Union received information from a worker of Diaproektor plant in Rahachou. According to him, electricians haven't received safety clothing for a year. They don't have the necessary instruments and their salary is only 2 million rubles.

Siarhei Shylovich, the deputy head of the plant responsible for social issues, confirmed in a conversation with prace-by.info that the plant had problems.

“It's true that we have problems. People work on request,” Siarhei Shylovich said. “But we don't delay salaries. There are different salaries, but the average wage is 4,300,000 rubles. The plant employs 1,200 people. We work as normal.”

Aliaksandr Bukhvostau, the chairman of the Free Metal Workers Trade Union, said the trade union was unable to protect the workers effectively, because the plant's primary unit doesn't have enough members.

“The trade union is strong if it has many members,” he noted.

Rahachou-based Diaproektor specialises on special and optical equipment, but also produces consumer goods, car equipment, sensors and signalling devices for the oil and gas industry.

Diaproektor had been on the verge of bankruptcy for a long time. The plant lost unique specialists, who went to work in other regions. The plant urgently needs experienced specialists to manufacture new products.

The Homelskaya Prauda newspaper wrote a few years ago that Rahachou's main plant, which had earlier worked for the defence sector, could not compete with the world's leaders and find new markets for its peaceful purpose products.
