“The talk was quite substantial. I directed the minister’s attention to the point that in the current situation it is inacceptable to ignore the situation in Belarus. Without assistance to Belarus’ democratic development it is impossible to resolve the Ukrainian situation.
There are two threats today: to see Lukashenka as a sort of opponent to Putin, what certain politicians in Europe are doing, and to agree that Belarus is in Russia’s sphere of influence. Both approaches will lead to the liquidation of Belarus’ independence and will significantly decrease the chances to change the situation democratically”, - Andrei Sannikov commented for the charter97.org web-site on the meeting with the head of the Sweden MFA.
After the meeting the leader of the European Belarus civic campaign posted a photo on Twitter.
