Radoslaw Sikorski: Poroshenko’s victory is huge loss for Putin

Russia still has a chance to reach an agreement with Ukraine.

This was said by Poland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski on TVN24 channel.

“Russia sends weapons and terrorists to Donetsk. I think that it is, first, inadmissible, second, it is in Russia’s interest to find a way of living at peace with neighboring Ukraine. If hundreds and even thousands of armed people shoot and seize the territories of a sovereign country, such a country has the right to defend itself. Had some “quests” taken Bialystok, we would have had the right to drive them out too”, - he claimed, commenting on the recent events in eastern Ukraine.

The head of the Polish diplomacy also commented on Petro Poroshenko’s winning the presidential elections in Ukraine.

“Petro Poroshenko’s has very big democratic support, and these elections were recognized by international organizations. I am very glad that he will first of all visit Warsaw, when Mustafa Dzhemilev will be receiving the Solidarity award, and will meet the heads of many democratic states. His victory is a big loss for Vladimir Putin. But I believe, that this is a person, who wants to reach an agreement with Russia, and they should use this opportunity”, - Radoslaw Sikorski added.
