Police release 67 people detained during Odesa unrest

The Odesa police have released 67 people who were detained during the unrest in the city on May 2.

The decision was made by Odesa region's prosecutors "at the protesters request," the public relations department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's main department in Odesa region has reported.

A source in the law enforcement agencies told Interfax the police have released all people detained during the events.

The source said the people were released because no court hearing was held to decide whether they should be held in custody. "They had to be released without a court hearing anyway," the source said, adding that there were pro-Russian activists and supporters of a united Ukraine among those released.
