Ukraine's Rada votes against referendum on May 25

Members of the Verkhovna Rada voted against the bill “On holding all-Ukrainian consultative poll on May 25, 2014”.
Only 154 members of parliament voted in favour of the bill, RVC-Ukraine learnt from an MP.
According to the bill, the Cabinet of Ministers offered to hold the all-Ukrainian consultative poll on May 25, 2014, simultaneously with the presidential election.
The process of preparing and holding the all-Ukrainian consultative poll is carried out in accordance with the Ukrainian law “On the All-Ukrainian referendum”.
Questions for the referendum must be approved by a resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
