Victoria Azarenka loses at Eastbourne

World No.8 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus made a return to the court in Eastbourne, the UK on 17 June after three months out with a foot injury.

In her first match the Belarusian fell to Italy's Camila Giorgi (42) 6-4, 3-6, 5-7. Victoria Azarenka came back from 4-2 down to win the first set. The Italian embarked on a powerful start of the second set, taking five games in row. Victoria Azarenka pulled herself together and won three games in response, but Camila Giorgi topped 6-3.

In a tense final set with a bunch of mistakes from both the sides the Italian went off victorious 5-7. The match lasted for almost three hours.

Despite the defeat, Victoria Azarenka showed her combative instinct, which gives hope for her successful performance at the Wimbledon that kicks off on 23 June.
