Driver of Iranian Embassy to stand trial for drugs smuggling

It has been stated by the spokesperson of the Supreme Court Yuliya Lyaskova, Interfax writes.

The drugs trafficking case opened against the 40-year-old citizen of Iran is to be heard in the court of Kastrychnitski district of Minsk.

The citizen of Iran, who had a residence permit in Belarus and worked as a driver of the diplomatic mission of this country, on March 8, 2014 brought from Iran 144 g of opium and more than 3,000 Tramadol pills (1.69 g each). He is charged with committing crimes under Articles 228 Part 2 (smuggling) and Article 328 Part 3 of the Criminal Code.
