Lukashenka’s Armenian friend expands business in Belarus

Oligarch Gagik Tsarukian has registered the ‘Multi Group Investbel’ company in Minsk.

It will deal with investing in the segments of Belarusian economy that have good prospects, Your County’s Tomorrow reports.

Gagik Tsarukian is the chairman of the ‘Prosperous Armenia’ party, the president of Armenia’s National Olympics Committee and at the same time one of the richest businessmen in today’s Armenia.

Tsarukian is the owner of a multisectoral concern ‘Multi Group’. It includes Yerevan Cognac, Vine and Vodka plant, the ‘Kotayk’ beer factory, rock processing plants, cement factories, measuring devices producing plants, a wholesale pharmaceutical company, a network of gas stations and furniture shops.

The friendship and cooperation between Tsarukian and the Belarusian dictator started in 2010.

On 30 September an Armenian-Belarusian wholesale trading center started operations in Yerevan. This is when, during the visit of the Belarusian ruler to Armenia, the businessman laid a 400-liter cognac barrel in honor of Mikalaj Lukashenka. The barrel waits until the ruler’s youngest son becomes an adult.

In 2012 a joint enterprise was opened in Minsk on Armenian cognac bottling, a co-founder of which was the Armenian businessman. Not long ago Lukashenka awarded the People’s Friendship Order to his companion “for great personal contribution into the development of trade, economic and political relations between Belarus and Armenia”.
