Vodka rises in price

A bottle of vodka must cost not lower than 53,000 rubles from July 1.

As charter97.org has learnt from the Ministry of Economy of Belarus, decision No. 48 “On amendments to decision No.49 of March 31, 2011, of the Ministry of Economy” was taken on June 26, 2014.

The decision supports the proposal of Belgospischeprom group to raise minimum prices of alcohol with more than 28% ABV and ethanol from food in connection with the growth of the excise duty on alcohol on July 1.

The minimum selling price of domestic beverages was increased 3,000 rubles to 40,000 per 0.5 litres. A 0.5-litre bottle of vodka will cost not less than 53,000 rubles in stores.
