The country's best handball player calls on the Ministry of Sport and Tourism to support the handball federation.
“We would like to end our career and leave young players, who are better then we, behind us. It is possible only through collaboration. I hope we are doing the same work with you,” Siarhei Rutenka said at the report-and-electoral conference of the Belarusian Handball Federation on July 10. According to him, many things in handball are just sheer enthusiasm, BelaPAN reports.
Rutenka says the men's national team, as well as HC Dinamo (Minsk) and Meshkov Brest, have done a great work “promoting the image of the country in Europe both in sport and in social life” in the last few years.
Federation head Uladzimir Kanaplou, who has been re-elected to his third four-year term, also called upon the Ministry of Sport to increase financial support taking into account the recent successes of handball players.
