Power cut hits 900 houses and plant in Lida

About 900 homes and Lida Buses Neman company in Lida were cut off due to a short circuit.

The news was spread by spokesperson of the Hrodna regional emergency department Natallia Zhivaleuskaya, BelTA reports.

The power cut occurred at 15:30 yesterday caused by a short circuit on a transmission line at a section of the substation 110/10KW “Zavadskaya”.

Electricity in 827 private houses in 22 streets in city district Maladziozhny and five streets in city district Industryalny with nine nine-storey blocks of flats was cut off. The plant remained without power, too.

The technological process at the plant was not disrupted, according to the emergency department. The power supply was resumed an hour later by switching to a standby section of the substation.

Causes of the short circuit are being figured out.
