The Ministry of Trade of Belarus wants to stop selling beer in plastic bottles.
The statement was made by minister of trade Valiantsin Chakanau at a press conference, BelTA reports.
“We support both the ban on selling beer in PET bottles of two or more litres, which took force yesterday, and the ban on all plastic bottles [for beer]. The issue was seriously discussed in the government. The youth is the health of the nation. Let's recall how young people were sitting in all public places with beer two years ago. Did they survive it [the ban on drinking alcohol in public]? They will also survive the absence of huge plastic bottles. High-quality product is sold in glass bottles,” the minister says.
