Head of Latvian MFA: Russia creates threat to whole Europe

Russian policy in Ukraine has put under threat the security of the whole Europe.

This comes from the interview of the Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs to the 900 seconds show on LNT channel, rus.delfi.lv reports.

“If Russian succeeds in destabilizing Ukraine to the extent that it turns into a battlefield, then there will most likely be desire to keep doing something similar in future”, - assumed the MFA head. Due to that Rinkēvičs spoke in favor of putting tougher pressure on Moscow. According to him, if the economic benefits are compared to the security of the whole Europe, it becomes clear that one must act tough.

On Monday morning the European Union leadership already reached an agreement on assets freeze and inclusion in the black list of the businessmen, who area closely linked to Russia’s president Vladimir Putin.
