“Senator” Sharejka to be detained on corruption charges

“The council of the republic” has approved criminal prosecution against Hanna Sharejka.

In the framework of investigation of the criminal case related to corruption at “Vitsebsk broiler plant” joint stock company, investigators have received evidence of involvement of the director of this economic entity to commitment of the crime related to violation of Article 424 Part 3 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority), BelaPAN writes.

As long as Hanna Sharejka is a member of the “council of republic” and has deputy’s immunity, the materials that prove her involvement in commitment of the unlawful act, were presented according to established procedure at the extraordinary session of the “council of the republic” on August 14.

The Investigation Committee has issued a decree to detain the official.

Hanna Sharejka, 54, is a member of the “council of republic” of two convocations. She is a member of the standing committee on international affairs and national security.
