At night on 17 August anarchists held a symbolic event in Brest against Russian imperialism.
Black paint was poured on the façade of the recently built Russian Center for Science and Culture, revbel.org reports.
“The Russian Center for Science and Culture has already gone notorious for being, in essence, an agential institution of Russian imperialism and supports ultra-right and neoconservative organizations like RuMol, which anti-fascists from Partisan already spoke against. The very Russian state itself is the main financial supporter of the Lukashenka regime, which acts as a sponsor in the most difficult moments of social tension and protects it from the attacks of human rights activists and journalists. After the events in the south-east Ukraine it has become obvious that in case a revolution takes place in Belarus, the Russian Federation will immediately invade the country and establish its own order here by the use of weapons. Due to everything stated above we could not but speak out on this and claim our position at to imperial influence centers”, - the activists told the charter97.org web-site.
