Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has said that Russia's current actions in Ukraine should be classified as a war against Europe.
"Russia is openly and directly involved in a state of war against Ukraine. Russia is in a state of war against a country that wants to be closer to Europe, so it means it is in a state of war against Europe," she told reporters before a European Council meeting in Brussels on August 30.
In this regard, Grybauskaite said that the EU should help Ukraine defend itself, including by supplying the necessary military equipment.
She also stressed the need to introduce a complete embargo on the supply of arms and military technology to Russia.
