Ukraine’s Defense Ministry found out Russian media in another lie

5

Russian mass media have fabricated a fake about an unsuccessful missile launching.

The Defense Ministry of Ukraine has refuted information of Russian mass media about an abortive missile launching in the Black Sea, the official Facebook page of the agency reports.

“Today Russian mass media have circulated information about an allegedly unsuccessful launching of a missile in the Black Sea from Ternopil anti-submarine corvette. In order “to strengthen” the evidential base, the information was accompanied by a video,” the report reads. The Defense Ministry notes that the Russian side tried to connect the information about this “incident” to the US-Ukrainian military exercises Sea Breeze 2014, however they left out of consideration that Ternopil could not take part in missile launching.

“Ternopil, an anti-submarine corvette, blocked by Russian military in Sevastopol during occupation of the territory of Crimea in March, has not been returned to the Ukrainian side yet. It is easy to check: it’s enough to visit Sevastopol in the area of the Southern Bay, Ternopil is there beside the Russian ships of the Black Sea fleet of the same type,” the report informs.

The Defense Ministry also attracts attention to the fact that the Russian military have returned to Ukraine 35 ships and motor boats, however corvettes Ternopil, as well as Lutsk, Khmelnytskyi and Prydniprovya are blocked in Sevastopol.
