Ewa Kopacz to become Poland’s Prime Minister

Ewa Kopacz will become the new Prime Minister of Poland.

On September 15 Poland’s President Bronislaw Komorowski is to order forming the government to Ewa Kopacz, thus appointing her the new Prime Minister, Polskie radio informs on September 12.

In addition, in a week, on September 22, Poland’s President is to convene the new Council of Ministers. “The first one who is to learn the new make-up of the government, will be Bronislaw Komorowski, nobody else,” Kopacz said, answering the question of journalists about the make-up of the government.

Besides, she informed that her today’s conversation with Polish president touched upon the issues of the government composition, as well as the situation in Ukraine, “Korrespondent” writes.

Ewa Kopacz (born December 3, 1956) is a Polish politician and a deputy in the Sejm. She is the incumbent Marshal of the Sejm since November 2011, the only woman to have held the post. Previously she has been Minister of Health since November 2007. Since 2001 she has been a member of the Civic Platform. Before she became a politician, she was pediatrician and general practitioner.

We remind that on September 9, 2014 Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk offered resignation as he had been elected the head of the European Council on August 30 at the EU Summit in Brussels.

According to the Polish Constitution, resignation of the Prime Minister causes resignation of the entire government.
