Mass dismissals of geologists in Slutsk

Workers of the Belarusian Geological Exploration have been working three days a week since April.

“I read an article about the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ). The branch Belarusian Geological Exploration works in Slutsk. The company had 300 employees. Geologists have been working 3 days a week since April 2014. According to the latest decree, this regime will last until 01.01.2015. Specialists are quitting in droves. I have the impression that everything is being made to destroy the enterprise. They don't want to lay off people and pay compensations, so they created these working conditions to make people quit voluntary. Another enterprise in Slutsk is going to collapse,” he wrote.

Belarusian Geological Exploration, a branch of the state-owned Geological Research and Production Centre declined to comment on the situation.
