Lukashenka: We need to count every cent, we have no spare money in budget

The 2015 budget should not be wasteful.

The statement was made by Lukashenka at a meeting with members of the “house of representatives”, charter97.org learnt from the dictator's press service.

Lukashenka raised the question of “modernisation”, which, in his opinion, should be continued.

“As far as I can understand, the government and the parliament are working on the bill as we agreed. I'd like to approach this bill seriously. The budget should not be wasteful. We need to count every cent as we have no spare money,” he said.

Lukashenka underlined the economy modernisation should be a priority for lawmakers.

“Many say we don't need modernisation due to lack of money and so on. But the modernisation and upgrading of our plants is the thing we cannot postpone. If we don't replace an old machine by a new one that makes competitive products, market diversification and the competitive ability in international markets will be impossible for us. We won't be able to sell our products,” Lukashenka said.

“Modernisation is vital if we want to live, compete and sell our products,” he added.
