Pentagon: Europe menaced by terrorism threat and aggression from Russian Federation

The main factors that pose a threat to Europe are acts of terrorism and the Russian aggression.

According to the Pentagon press service, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey said during the meeting with the Italian military authorities in Rome, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"For the first time for a long while the United States and its allies face evident menaces: the conventional threat of the armed conflict from the side of Russia, as well as with an unconventional one of terrorism and extremism," General Dempsey said.

He stressed that Italy deals with the actual development of both these challenges due to its geographical location.

As Pentagon noted, the sides discussed the ongoing cooperation in the military sphere as well as the prospects of cooperation in the new realities.

Earlier, the Pentagon did not exclude the possibility that the Russian Federation would resort to war with Ukraine, Baltic States and Georgia.
