Belarus and Russia to revise joint defence doctrine

The defence doctrine of the “union state” will be changed.

It was said by deputy state secretary of the “union state” Aleksei Kubrin, BelTA reports.

“There are certain documents that determine the procedures for the operation of the armed forces of Russia, Belarus, and the regional military group. Belarus and Russia have defence doctrines of their own. There is a doctrine of the Union State in accordance with the Union State foundation treaty. It is obvious that taking into account the adoption of new doctrines — in Russia and, I think, in Belarus — we are going to amend the defense doctrine of the Union State,” Aleksei Kubrin said.

The Russian ambassador and the Belarusian defence minsiter had a meeting yesterday. They discussed the military and political situation in the Eastern European region, issues of the bilateral military cooperation and the state of the military component of the “union state”.
