Turchynov: Russia Is Not Going to Cease External Aggression

Today's decision of the Russian Federation Council granting permission to use the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation abroad shows that Putin is not going to stop external aggression.

National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov stated, Censor.NET reports.

He recalled that it was not the first time when Russia took such a decision "but, as always, it was done rascally, solely as a political cover for the crimes that had already been in progress."

"Thus, the Russian aggression in Crimea began in the night of Feb. 27, when the tactical assault group of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had captured the building of the parliament in Simferopol while the decision to grant permission to send troops into the territory of Ukraine was taken by Russia several days later, on March 1," Oleksandr Turchynov said adding that the same scenario was used in Syria.

The NSDC Secretary stressed that the Russian military aircraft and personnel had been participating in the war on the side of the dictatorial regime of Assad over a month already. "Putin has rammed this decision through the Federation Council behind closed doors today making a political cover for his actions," he said.

However, Oleksandr Turchynov drew attention to the fact that the document was concealed. "It was adopted behind closed doors and the text has not been published. Therefore, we can assume that it covers the territory beyond Syria and any country may be in danger," the NSDC Secretary said.

"This is another proof that Russia is not going to cease external aggression and remains one of the major military and terrorist threats to the global community," he concluded.
