Vital Rymasheuski: West Cannot Recognize These "Elections" As Valid

"Elections" in Belarus have turned into a nominal ritual which result is always predictable.

That is why the figures announced by Lidziya Yermioshyna had not been recognized by the world community ever. Under such conditions opposition calls upon citizens to boycott the elections and do not appear at polling stations, as like during the previous campaigns, their votes would be stolen, Belsat TV channel reminds.

The co-chairman of the organizing committee for creation of the Belarusian Christian Democratic Party Vital Rymasheuski has taken part in the meeting with the Speaker on Belarus at the German Bundestag Johann Wadephul, who represents the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU). During the meeting the situation in Belarus in the context of the “elections”, human rights violations and te denial to register the party were discussed.

"Our main aim for today is to guarantee stabilty of reforms in Belarus. Opposition is looking for an ally in that. Many politicians in the West have such a temptation – to misrepresent some short-term results as serious changes. For example, Lukashenka not imprisoning people during the „elections“ is treated as improvement oft he situation. But it is to change objectively only when system-level changes are implemented. We had a consensus on this issue with my interlocutor. I think that it could be predicted that these "elections" would not be recognized by the West as valid and authentic," he said, commenting on the results oft he meeting.
