Unemployment Benefits Decreasing

In August an average unemployment benefits per one person equaled to Br228.1 thousand.

In dollar terms it is only $13.6

Within a month it decreased by Br2100. Cuts in August caused a comeback to May benefits, tut.by reports.

In August Homel region hit the “average unemployment benefits” list with Br238 thousands, Vitsebsk region with Br220 500 is an outsider.

Although the number of the unemployed is decreasing for the second month, the Ministry of Labour predicts that the numbers may be doubled within next 5 years.

As of September 1 there were 100 vacancies for 166 registered unemployed. For example: a year earlier there were 100 vacancies for 40 people. As of the beginning of the last month, women made up 34% of all unemployed.
