Mikalai Statkevich: No Sense to Take Part in the Show

Belarus' citizens may do something more interesting on Sunday.

Mikalai Statkevich, former political prisoner, presidential candidate in 2010, said in his interview with charter97.org.

- You've repeatedly urged people to ignore fraud "elections". What are you going to do on the E-day?

- Me and my colleagues will come together and plan our actions, our campaign on the return of normal elections.

I'm not interested in October 11. Falsification already happened when candidates' nomination. In case of a democratic candidate, who could call us to protect his victory from falsifications, we would think over a better action and fraud's opposition.

But such candidate does not exist. None of Lukashenka's "opponents" urged people to take the Square, being well aware of what was happening during "straw ballot ".

Therefore, the agenda will be as follows: what should be done to make real elections back.

- Why should Belarusians ignore these "elections"?

- There is democratic candidate. If there was one, he would inform people, as soon as he saw only 0.5% representatives of democratic organizations and forced people into early polling: "Your votes are being stolen, take the Square".

But everybody keeps silence, there are no democratic candidates. They only "press to come". So, there is no sense to take part in the show. You'd better find something more interesting.
