Number Of Enterprises With Arrears Of Wages Increased Almost  Ninefold Within One Month

As of November 1, 111 enterprises have not paid out wages to their workers on time.

The maximum quantity of corporate debtors was reached in April – 518 enterprises. After that their number was gradually changing, and as the situation was on October 1, in the run-up to the presidential elections, it has dropped to 13 companies. Then, in September, there have become by a factor of 33 . Employees have not received 27.9 billion, BelaPAN informs.

But in October once again there have become more enterprises that have not paid wages.

The greatest number of nonpayers is in Vitsebsk region – 78 companies. Brest region has become the best in this respect, all economic entities have paid money to their employees timely.

Employees of 23 organisations of Minsk region have not been paid salaries on time, and 6 entities in Hrodna region. As of November 1, there were 2 economic entities in Minsk and Homel regions, which had not paid wages on time.

Agricultural sector has become the leader in detention of wages again – it happened in 95 companies. The second goes industrial sector (11 companies), while construction is the third (3 entities).

As of November 1, enterprises have backdated wages for a total amount of Br52.4 billion.

Previously responsibility for detention of wages was strengthened in Belarus. The period of limitation in the cases when employers do not keep the term of their employees’ wages payment was extended from 2 months to one year.

We remind that as of September 1, economic entities’ indebtedness under credits for payment of wages amounted to Br1 trillion 978 billion 200 million. Hrodna region is number one in terms of this indebtedness under credits for wages payment – Br384 billion. Vitsebsk and Mahilyou enterprises have taken out the least loans – by Br208 million each.
