Rosselkhoznadzor: Belarus Is the Way for Smuggling to Russia

Belarus is accused of smuggling of counterfeit dairy products.

Our country is called the way for smuggling to Russia. Belarus is suspected of supplies of Polish and Ukrainian products under the guise of other countries. According to Head of the Regulatory Department Sergei Dankvert, Belarus has recently received products with Turkish certificates, Interfax reports.

"We were on to Turkish colleagues-in particular, to the Head of the National Dairy Council of Turkey Harun Chally, and found out that the Turkish companies mentioned in certificates had not produced it," "he said and added that most likely it was Polish or Ukrainian products.

Ukraine used to deliver up to 60 thousand tons of cheese per year. Now they mostly focused on Belarus, Russian officials believe. As a result, Russia additionally received 700 thousand tons of milk that was impossible to supply only by domestic producers.

Sergei Dankvert stresses that Belarusian producers deliver counterfeit and fake products less often because of strict production rules in the country.
