Lukashenka: In 2016 There Would Be Budget Difficulties Due To Inflation

The Belarusian ruler supposes it would be possible to axe budget programmes next year, in order to reach “nice figures” of inflation.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka has said so today as he heard out a report from Finance Minister Uladzimir Amaryn.

Uladzimir Amaryn in his report noted that according to him, the inflation in the country this year is about 10%, BelTA reports.

The Belarusian dictator wants it to be “a one-digit number” next year, 2016. At the same time, Lukashenka stressed that the budget could be sacrificed for such an aim. “Even if there would be budget difficulties, the priority is to cut inflation,” he demanded.

We remind that wages of health care and education workers, as well as many social payments and programmes, are financed by the state budget of Belarus.

It should be also noted that according to the IMF, the inflation in Belarus in 2015 is to be more than 22%, and not 10%, as the report of the Finance Minister states.
