Electricity And Gas Rates In Belarus Go Up

Cost of electricity in Belarus has gone up since December 1.

It is stated in the Resolution of the Council of Ministers №996 of November 30, 2015. According to the document, the prices for natural and liquid gas, tariffs for electrical and thermal energy for the needs of heating and hot water supply, subsidized by the state, have been indexed, BelTA reports.

Heating

Since December 1 the tariff for thermal energy for the needs of heating and hot water supply are Br100,008 per 1 Gcal.

Natural Gas

The price of 1 cubic metre of natural gas, with the availability of individual gas flow meters and individual gas fired heaters in the heating season is set at Br646.9, Br2,368.5 in summer. If individual gas flow meters are absent (regardless of the season), the price of 1 cubic metre of natural gas is Br2 368.5.

The price of gas without individual gas flow meters, when one has a gas stove and centralized hot water supply or an individual hot-water boiler (with the exception of a gas one) is to be Br18,000 per one dweller per month; with the availability of a gas stove and a gas water boiler (in absence of a centralized hot-water supply system) – Br54,300; with the availability of a gas stove and absence of a centralized hot-water supply system and a gas hot-water boiler – Br30,700.

Liquefied Gas

In the heating season a person with individual gas flow meters and individual gas fired heaters is to pay per 1 cubic metre of liquefied gas Br10,025.7, in summer – Br6 315.1.If individual gas fired heaters are absent, the price of 1 cubic metre is also Br6,315.1. Without individual gas flow meters, when one has a gas stove and centralized hot water supply or an individual hot-water boiler (with the exception of a gas one), the liquefied gas per one dweller a month is Br18,800, with the availability of a gas stove and a gas hot-water boiler (in absence of a centralized hot-water supply system) – Br53,500, when one has a gas stove (in absence of a centralized hot-water supply system and gas hot-water boiler) – Br25,100.

Electricity

The price of 1 kWh of electricity in residential houses (flats) with an electric stove, is Br841.5 under a straight-line tariff now, under a differential tariff it is Br589, including the period of minimum load from 10 p.m. till 5 p.m., and Br1,683 in the period of the peak load, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The cost of electricity for the needs of heating and hot water supply with equipment power demand of more than 5 kW is Br990 per 1 kWh in the period of minimal load from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., and Br2,970 per 1 kWh in the rest of the day.

With the exception of the abovementioned cases, the electricity under a straight-line tariff is to cost Br990 per 1 kWh to Belarusian citizens, according to a differential tariff – Br693 in the period of minimal load from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Br1,980 in the period of the peak load from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

We remind that according to the draft budget in 2016 it is planned to abolish a tax allowance for selling gas and electricity services to the population. Next year it is offered to include the VAT when setting tariffs for gas and electricity for the population.
