State-owned companies ordered to take austerity measures

The authorities decided to restrict the growth of salaries in the public sector. The growth of other expenses will be cut, too.

As Belorusski Partizan learnt, the Ministry of Finance sent state-owned companies letters with the mark “for official use only”, which order to cut the growth of expenses.

“In order to optimise expenses of the republican budget, the Ministry of Finance reserved a part of expenses, including those meant for subsidies for regional budgets in 2015. Expenses on salaries of public sector employees will be restricted by about 10%, taking into account the planned increase in wages this year; current expenses of state-owned companies (except for expenses on food, medicines, utilities, transport, travel allowances and transfers for population) will be restricted by 5%; capital expenses (except for expenses on buying medical equipment) will be restricted by 10%,” the letter says. “Taking into account the rate of generating incomes and expenses in the republican and local budgets in the changing macroeconomic situation, the amount of the reserved subsidies can be revised.”
