Mirnyi progresses into Delray Beach Open quarterfinal

Max Mirnyi and Ivan Dodig will next face the American duo of Eric Butorac and Rajeev Ram.

Belarus' Max Mirnyi and Croatia's Ivan Dodig started their Delray Beach Open trophy quest on a good note beating Mariusz Fyrstenberg of Poland and Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico 3-6, 7-5, 10-5 on 18 February.

In last 16 the Belarusian-Croatian tandem, seeded third at the tournament, took revenge over the Polish-Mexican duo that beat them 7-6, 4-6, 5-10 in the Memphis Open semifinal several days before.

Max Mirnyi and Ivan Dodig will next face the American duo of Eric Butorac and Rajeev Ram.

Max Mirnyi won the competitions at Delray Beach twice: in 1999 (with Nenad Zimonjic) and in 2008 (with Jamie Murray). During his long professional career the 37-year-old Belarusian won 48 ATP doubles tournaments teaming up with different tennis players. His recent success (with Horia Tecau) was the victory at the tournament in Beijing in 2013.

The Delray Beach Open will complete on 22 February.
