Opposition activist goes on hunger strike in protest against arrest in Homel

Kanstantsin Zhukouski has announced a hunger strike to protest against a 10-day jail term he received on 20 February, according to his counselwho visited the detention center on 21 February.

The lawyer was able to learn the circumstances of activist’s detention. On 20 February, Kanstantsin Zhukouski went to the Executive Committee to file a complaint. On entering the building, there was a dispute with asecurity guard, who called the police. As a result, the activist was brought to court, where he was arrested for alleged using foul language.
