No more money for nuclear power plant?

It is proposed to put the first NPP power unit into operation a year later.

On February 25 the House of Representatives will consider the Protocol amending the date of putting into operation of power units of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.

BelaPAN reports that on February 25 Deputies will consider a draft law on the ratification of the Protocol, which amends the intergovernmental Belarus-Russia agreement on cooperation in construction of a nuclear power plant on the territory of Belarus of March 15, 2011. The Protocol was signed in Moscow on December 23, 2014.

It changes terms of putting into operation NPP power units. Under the agreement, the parties made commitments to put the first NPP power unit into operation in 2017, and the second - in 2018. The Protocol changes terms of use for 2018 and 2020 respectively.

Besides, the Protocol to the agreement entrusts the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Belarusian nuclear power plant" to be a responsible client. The agreement used to name the State institution "Directorate of Construction of a Nuclear Power Plant" as a client.
