Belneftehim unties fuel prices to dollar

Due to the decline in oil prices Belneftekhim does not seek to reach the cost of $1 per liter of indicative AI-92.

The Chairman of the concern Ihar Liashenka told, when answering a question of tut.by about prospects for fuel retail prices in Belarus.

Now, according to Liashenka, "we take into consideration prices in neighbouring countries and the world oil price".

-Binding to the dollar rate was relevant when the cost of a barrel of oil was fixed at $75, the representative of Belneftekhim explained.

Now, according to the forecast of Ihar Liashenka, the retail fuel price will change dynamically, and if oil prices continue to fall -and world experts say about possible $20 per barrel - the retail fuel price will "respectively decline".

It should be reminded that in September AI-92-K5-Euro was adopted as an indicative grade of fuel and index its price in accordance with dollar exchange rate. October 1 value of AI-92-K5-Euro, according to this procedure, was fixed at $1 per liter.
