Nyoman glass factory preparing to work three-day week

Wages of workers of the factory have decreased considerably.

Since January the well-known factory, which exports its goods to many countries of the world, moved to a four-day week, and now management is considering an option of shortening the working week to three days.

praca-by.info was informed about that by workers of Nyoman glass factory.

- We are working four days a week since the New Year. Earlier workers were paid 3.5 mln monthly, and now they get Br2.5 mln. And even now there are specialists who are paid less than 2 mln. Just imagine: you are given 2.5 mln, while a pair of shoes costs 600,000. The question is: how to live? Now the management is considering moving to a three-day week. Final products are piled in the factory’s warehouse. From time to time some goods which are not in demand are broken and remelted into new goods. It means, we are working in vain,” they told about the regrettable situation at the factory.

- And people have nowhere to go. In fact, there is no other job in Byarozauka. Journalists visit the factory from time to time, BT films a news item telling how wonderful our wages are, and that our products are exported to many countries of the world. We are watching that and laughing: how good they are in telling stories!” workers say.

We remind that recently many enterprises are moved to a shortened week, or make workers apply for unpaid leaves. Thus, in early March the editorial office of charter97.org received complaints from such entreprises as Gomselmash, Asipovichy plant of automobile units, Svetlahorsk plant of concrete products, Babrujsk plant of tractor parts and units, Mogilevtransmash, Strommashina, MTZ, Gomeldrev, Minsk Bearing plant, the Belarusian Railway, Vitebskiye produkty company and others.
