Ministry of Commerce: Web shopping to be regulated

Web shopping is planned to be regulated.

The Minister of Commerce Valiantsin Chakanau stated that, BelTA informs.

The Minister stressed that Belarusians would still be able to purchase in foreign shops. "It will be operating, but some specific regulations will be adopted to regulate the trade," Valiantsin Chakanau said. - We are going this way, and have some points concerning the issue decided".

The Minister silenced about the specific steps and measures on "shopping regulations on foreign Web sites".

Valiantsin Chakanau noted that foreign Web shops took a part of turnover from domestic producers. To compete on equal terms, the Belarusian light industry needs not only to manufacture high-quality and available production, as well as to refine methods of sale.

It should be reminded that November 25, 2014 Lukashenka's Decree No. 360 increased the maximum value of parcels Belarusians could receive without paying customs duties: in postal mails from €120 to €200, delivery by carrier - from €10 to €200. The State Customs Committee points out that the number of items received from abroad is not limited: all that is needed is to fit within statutory limits.

Statistics shows about 81% of Belarusians do shopping in domestic online shops. But recently our citizens have increasingly buying goods on foreign markets by mail. China with a share of 33% tops the list. EU countries take the second place, Russian shops - the third.
