University education in Belarus costs three times as much as in France and Germany

Journalists have compared education costs to the costs in other countries.

Today the cost of one year of attendance for full-time students in Belarus ranges from 960 Euro (Humanities department of the Belarusian State University) to 1,430 Euro (Dentistry department of the Medical university).

Costs are different in Russia. For example, one year at the Applied Mathematics, Cultural Studies or History department in the Higher School of Economics costs 3,730 Euro, and one year at the Economic department of Moscow State University – 5,670 Euro. But there is a difference: the sum is not growing, students pay the same sum as in the contract signed during the first year, Komsomolskaya Pravda v Belarusi writes.

Education in universities of Poland, where there no entrance exams are needed, costs 2,000 Euro and more. For example, to study political science in Lodz University costs 2,000 Euro, and education of a software developer, climate scientist or geographer – 2,500 Euro. In Lithuania costs are from 1,300 Euro (Management and business administration in Vilnius University) to 2,700-3,500 Euro (Software developer in Vilnius Gediminas Technical University).

Universities are financed by the state in France, and students pay from 200 to 400 Euro a year. And in Germany instruction fees were cancelled in all states last year (earlier fee-based education existed in universities of Bavaria, Hamburg and Lower Saxony). Now students are just to pay 150-200 Euro of administrative costs.
