Independent journalists won’t be allowed to visit NPP construction

The Ministry of Energy refused to organize a press tour to the future Belarusian nuclear power plant station in Astravets.

The agency explained that “in the near future press tours for journalists to the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is not planned,” Radio Svaboda informs.

A reporter of Radio Svaboda tried to be accredited among the participants of the journalists’ group.

At the same time, the ministry invited journalists to take part in the international exhibition and conference Atomexpo-Belarus 2015, which is to take place in Minsk on April 22-14.

It is known that representatives of official mass media regularly visit not only Astravets site, but Russian nuclear facilities, as well as enterprises producing equipment for the first Belarusian nuclear power plant.
