Brest railroad workers dismissed for refusing to go on unpaid leave

Brest locomotive depot notified "rebels" of dismissal in two months.

The charter97.org reader informs.

"Today at a planning meeting in Brest locomotive depot they have said everyone should write an application for a 6-day unpaid leave.

But there are people who have not done it before by saying that they have children. They demanded to show an official document, and only then they would write an application. So, yesterday, those workers received a notice that in two months they would be dismissed. What is going on?" the reader said.

The lokomotive depot refused to comment on the situation.

It should be reminded that Belarusian enterprises experience problems in paying out wages to employees. In particular, for several months there have been reports on the transfer of enterprises in the four- and three-day work week, on partial payment of salaries and their decrease, as well as obligatory unpaid leaves.
