Krystall workers deprived of bonuses

Bonuses were from 30 to 40% of a salary.

Workers of Minsk Kristall, Belarus's largest producer of alcoholic beverages, were deprived of bonuses, Salidarnasts learnt from the leader of the electronics trade union, Henadz Fiadynich.

“The company released the order that deprives employees of bonuses. Bonuses were from 30 to 40 percent of a salary. We don't know why they did so. According to the collective employment agreement, bonuses are paid if the company has enough profit. Is it caused by the poor sales performance? Have people begun to drink less?” Henadz Fiadynich wonders.

Alena Prykhodzka, the deputy general director for economic and financial affairs, declined to comment on the situation. A representative of the company's reception office said:

“No one can deprive employees of bonuses for no reasons. There must be a reason. What is the ground for orders? You should have written documentary proofs of how, when and why it happened before you call and tell us about people's complaints.

“Could you tell us why employees were deprived of bonuses?”

“I am not obliged to tell you anything,” the company's representative said.

A list of vacancies can be found on Kristall's website and other sites. The company looks for a manager for the company shop in Mahilou with a salary of 5.5mn rubles, a car repairman of the 5th grade (Kaliadzichy industrial zone) with a salary of from 5.8mn rubles, a cleaner with a salary of 4mn rubles, and an economist in Minsk with a salary of 6mn rubles.

The leader of the electronics trade union notes that the economic situation at most Belarusian companies is worsening:

“More and more enterprises begin to work three days a week. If such a giant as MAZ starts to work three days, other plants working for it have to work short weeks, too. Even food companies will have problems. Unfortunately, consumption has fallen.”
