Belarus' Talay wins European Athletics Indoor Championships gold

Alina Talay of Belarus won the 60m Hurdles gold at the 2015 European Athletics Indoor Championships that is underway in Prague.

The Belarusian needed 7.85 seconds (Belarus' new and her personal new record) to cover the distance for the gold medal. Lucy Hatton of the UK finished second, 0.05 seconds back. Third was Serita Solomon of the UK with the time of 7.93.

Orsha-born Alina Talay has claimed five victories at different international tournaments this season.

Belarusian pentathlete Yana Maksimova finished one step from the podium with the total of 4,628 points. Her teammate Yekaterina Netsvetayeva was 12th (4,414). Katarina Johnson-Thompson picked up the European pentathlon champion title with 5,000 points. Silver went to Nafissatou Thiam of Belgium (4,696), with bronze for Eliska Klucinova of the Czech Republic (4,687).

Alexander Linnik of Belarus failed to qualify for the 400m final finishing 3rd (two best athletes qualify for the final).
