Unknown torn off Russian flag in Independence Avenue

43

Minsk dwellers demonstrate their attitude towards the neighbouring state.

Not much time passed after the authorities of Minsk placed Russian tricoloured flags in the centre of the Belarusian capital, and one of the flags at the crossing of Lenin Street and Independence Avenue was torn off together with the flagpole and thrown into the traffic area. The official Belarusian flag remained on the lightpost.

We remind that the national symbol of the neighbouring state have evidently appeared on the eve of the official holiday – the “day of unity of the peoples of Belarus and Russia,” however dwellers of the city have paid attention to the fact that it has been done today, on April 1, when All Fools’ Day is observed in many countries of the world, including Belarus.
