Russian paratroopers’ drills to take place in Brestsky range

Participants of the Belarusian-Russian drills are to train joint actions for search and neutralization of an imaginary enemy.

Charter97.org has been informed about that by the press-service of the Defence Ministry of Belarus.

“In the period of April 14-16 under command of the commander of the 38th Independent Guards Mobile Brigade of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) a battalion tactical exercise of the 38th Independent Guards Mobile Brigade is to take place in Brestsky range. Servicemen of the 104th Parachute Regiment of the 76th Guards Airborne Division of the Airborne Forces of Russia are to take part in the exercise.”

The exercise is to be dedicated to detection and blocking of illegal military groups and driving the enemy force out of the country, the report reads.

More than 400 servicemen, more than 50 items of special and military equipment are to be used. The drills are to be held in three stages.

“During the drills Belarusian and Russian paratroopers are to train joint actions in detection and neutralization of an imaginary enemy.

The exercise is to be held in cooperation with aviation, practicing air-dropping and air-land delivery from MI-8 helicopters, inspection actions. Helicopter mounting of military personnel and launching is to take place from a field take-off site,” the Defence Ministry said.

After arriving in the target regions paratroopers are to train practical tasks on a rough terrain, taking under protection by a parachute regiment of the Russian military forces an unopposed crossing.

Issues of control of counter-sabotage actions by the forces of a battalion in a staff structure including an aviation element (unmanned aircraft systems, helicopters, aviation support), sniffer dogs, are to be trained. In this context, new approaches to the tactics of actions of mobile military units and regiments of the Special Operations Forces jointly with military commitments of the member countries of the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) are to be drilled.

“The events of military training with participation of Special Operations Forces of Belarus and the Airborne Forces of Russia have become traditional already, and they are held every year.

Holding such exercises allows establishing common outlook at the methods of preparation and holding joint tactical training exercises, define the most effective and appropriate methods of work for commanders and staffs, forms and ways of action when performing tasks,” the report of the ministry reads.
