Nina Bahinskaya's case 'lost'

The trial of Minsk dweller detained for picket in memory of Smolensk plane crash did not take place.

Nina Bahinskaya informed Belorusskaya pravda that she and her lawyer came to the Maskouski District Department of Internal Affairs. The man on duty said the case had already been taken to court and had advised to address the office because the session was scheduled for 14.30. However, the case was not found.

Maskouski District Department of Internal Affairs said the case would be brought to court at 3 pm. At 3:20 pm the accused was told the judge Matyl would consider the case. However, the judge was busy with a criminal case. Then Nina Bahinskaya made a complaint against abuse by the police and left the court.

On April 10 about 15 activists of Razam movement and European Belarus civil campaign came to the Consulate of Poland in Minsk with flowers and candles to to commemorate those killed in the Smolensk crash. The policeman began to find out whether the action was authorized. After long negotiations and calls the guard of the Consulate came out and said the action should not be held.

Activists headed to the Red Church, where Nina Bahinskaya was detained. The same evening the woman was released from the Maskouski District Department of Internal Affairs.
