IMF: Inflation in Belarus in 2015 to reach 22.1%, economy decline – 2.3%

The International Monetary Fund predicts that the GDP in Belarus will decline by 2.3% in 2015.
It is stated by April World Economic Outlook, BelaPAN informs.
At the same time, according to evaluation of IMF experts, inflation in Belarus is to be 22.1%, according to the results of this year.
Besides, analysts of the IMF believe that in 2016 the GDP of Belarus is to decrease by 0.1%, while the growth of prices in the next year is to reach 17.4%.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the year, according to the official statistics, the inflation in Belarus is already 4.9%. at the same time, the inflation target in 2015 was set by the National Bank at 18% with an allowable variation of 2%.
In 2014 inflation in Belarus considerably increased the predicted level and was equal to 16.2%.
As for the gross domestic product, in January-February 2015 its volume decreased by 0.6% while the annual prediction of the government was a growth of the economy by 0.2-0.7%.
