MAZ workers receive only one quarter of wages

They do not know when they will get the remaining part of their wages.

Workers of the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) tell charter97.org that the plant does not pay wages on time, which has never happened before.

“MAZ began to delay wages. We usually receive salaries on the 10th and 20th day in equal parts. We received only 25% of wages on April 10. They don't say when the rest part will be paid. No one says anything,” a worker writes.

Another worker confirms the information and adds there's a problem with holiday pay.

“MAZ is in a poor financial state. They don't give holiday pay. People who applied for a holiday in early March and went on holiday in April haven't received their pay,” he writes.

The plant's representatives declined to comment on the situation to charter97.org.

MAZ is reported to have problems: the plant was on holiday until April 6 due to the lack of work, and workers say the enterprise is in a critical state.

Many companies work short weeks or force workers to take unpaid leaves. In the first days of March, charter97.org received complaints from Gomselmash, the Automobile Units Plant in Asipovichy, the Concrete Products Plant in Svetlahorsk, the Tractor Parts and Units Plant in Babruisk, Mogilevtransmash, Strommashina, the Minsk Tractor Plant, Gomeldrev, the Minsk Bearing Plant, Belarusian Railway, Vitebsk Products company and others.
