Action in support of arrested Belarusian in Russia

6

Brest activists held an action of solidarity with Kilyl Silivonchyk.

Charter97.org is informed about large poster with "Glory to Ukraine! And Zhyve Belarus! ("Long live Belarus!") inscriptions. It appeared at one of the junctions of M1 highway (Brest-Minsk-Moscow). All drivers and passengers of public transport could see it.

It should be reminded that few days ago Moscow Military court sentenced Belarusian citizen Kiryl Silivonchyk to two years in a penal settlement. A young man was convicted under "Public justification of terrorism or public calls for it." In Russia such cases fall under the jurisdiction of military court even if the accused is a civilian.

Kiryl Silivonchyk published on his VKontakte (social network) texts and pictures in support of Ukraine, as well as those condemning Russian policy.
